Privacy Policy — Dust Rider

1. Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Brayan Andrés Viveros Melo, an individual, who develops the game under the name Baoogames ("we", "us"), based in San Juan de Pasto, Colombia. Baoogames is not yet an incorporated company.

2. What data we handle

a) Data that stays on your phone. Your language, your volume settings, your best scores and your ad choice are saved only on your phone. We do not receive them.

b) Your account. The first time you open the game you choose how to get in: as a guest or with your Google account (and, on iPhone, with Apple). Either way the game creates an account for you on our server, so that your progress is kept and you can play online.

Guest: an anonymous account. It has only a random identifier: no name, no email.
Google or Apple: your account's unique identifier, your email address (or the private relay address Apple generates if you choose to hide it), your name and, with Google, the address of your profile picture. We do not show them to other players.
Your progress in the game: your coin balance and every coin movement with its reason (for example "bandit", "video" or "fine"), when you first and last played, and how many online duels you have played and won. The coins your phone already had before the account are added to it once.

c) Online duels. When you play an online duel, the server handles the match: your opponent, the coins at stake, your reaction times in milliseconds and the result of each round. Your opponent sees a nickname that the game invents for you from your account's identifier (for example "Skinny Coyote #482"), never the name of your Google or Apple account. There is no chat or free text between players.

d) Data collected by ads. Dust Rider has reward videos, which are always optional. They are shown by Unity LevelPlay together with the advertising networks connected to that service (currently including Google AdMob and ironSource). These providers may collect:

your device's advertising identifier (Android: advertising ID; iOS: IDFA, only if you allow it in the system prompt),
your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
device data (model, system version, language, network),
your interactions with ads (whether they were shown, watched or tapped).

If you choose "Basic only" on the privacy screen, this data is not used to personalise ads.

e) Rankings. The game has rankings of the players who have won the most online duels and of those with the most coins, in the world and in your country. If you appear in them, other players see the nickname the game invented for you, your country (the one of your phone's region, which the game sends to our server) and your number of duels won or coins, and nothing else about you. You can hide from the rankings at any time with the button on that screen.

f) Technical data. Like any online service, our server provider receives your IP address and technical data of each connection.

g) What we do not collect. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or sensitive data, and the game uses no analytics tools.

3. What we use your data for

To run the game: your account, your progress and the online duels.
To keep the game fair: for example, the server limits the coins that can be earned in a day and measures the reaction times of online duels.
To show the rankings, with the data in 2.e.
To show ads, which is what funds the game.
To protect the game and prevent fraud and abuse.
To answer your questions and requests.

4. On what basis

Account, progress and online duels: needed to provide you with the service you asked for.
Personalised ads: with your consent, which you give or refuse on the privacy screen. You can change it any time from the "Privacy" button in the settings.
Fairness and security: our legitimate interest in protecting the game and its players.

5. Who we share data with

Supabase, which stores your account and progress on our behalf and runs the online duels. The data is stored in the United States (Oregon).
Google, if you use "Sign in with Google", and as one of the ad networks (AdMob).
Apple, if you use "Sign in with Apple".
The ad providers named in 2.d.
Other players: your opponent in an online duel sees the nickname the game invented for you, as said in 2.c, and nothing else about you.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data ourselves.

6. International transfers

Your account data is stored in the United States, and some providers may process data in other countries. We choose providers that protect the data, but the laws of those countries may differ from those of your own.

7. How long we keep it

Data on your phone, until you uninstall the game.
Account data, while the account exists. When you delete it, we delete your account, your profile, your coins and their history and your duels.
Guest accounts that are not used for 12 months (none of our games is opened with them) are deleted automatically, with everything saved in them. Google or Apple accounts are not deleted for inactivity: only you delete them.
Ad data, according to each provider's policies.

8. Your rights

You can know, update and correct your data, ask for its deletion, withdraw your consent and access it free of charge. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@baoogames.com. We will answer within the deadlines set by law.

You can also limit ad tracking in your phone's settings and change your ad choice inside the game.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from the game: open the settings, press "Delete account" and confirm. This deletes your account and everything saved with it, as said in section 7.

You can also request it by writing to contact@baoogames.com from the email linked to your account, with the subject "Delete account"; we will do it within the legal deadlines. A guest account has no email, so we cannot tell which one is yours: for guests, delete it from the game; if you no longer have the game, the account is deleted after the period in section 7.

10. Children

Dust Rider is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We apply reasonable measures to protect data, such as encrypted connections and access rules in the database so that each player can only read their own data, but no measure is infallible.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use your data for ads, we will ask for your consent again.
